Engineering topography

Represents a special branch of geodesy where topographic works are performed for the design, execution and operation of buildings and land. We perform:

Geodetic stakeout and surveying networks

The quality of the topo-geodetic products is directly influenced by the precision of determining the geodetic stakeout and surveying networks. We perform:

  • ✅ site study to establish the optimal locations of the points of the geodetic network
  • ✅ proposal for marking (terminals, metal pickets, pillars, reflective targets) and montage of network points
  • ✅ 3D measurement and compensation of the network by GNSS satellite methods
  • ✅ 2D measurement and compensation of the network by classical measurements (triangulation & trilateration)
  • ✅ 1D measurement and compensation of the network by geometric or trigonometric leveling measurements

Reports of geodetic networks processed by us include: estimated values of unknown parameters, standard deviations of unknowns, standard deviations of measurements (for geometric leveling), statistical tests to identify gross errors, point error ellipses (for planimetric offsets).

Situation plans for AACR (Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority) approval

The situation plans represent a real image of the land that has been measured. They are executed for: design or for obtaining approvals for the implementation of PUG, PUZ, PUD and PAC plans. Depending on the topography and the size of the area to be studied in order to make the situation plans, we use: classical technology (total stations), satellite technology (GNSS receivers), photogrammetric technology (drone measurements) or 3D scanning.

  • Planimetric situation plans : are made in national projection systems (Stereographic 1970 – for Romania) or in local systems, at different scales depending on the density of the measured elements. These contain flat elements: roads, alleys, sidewalks, constructions, property fences, vegetation and hydrography as well as surface urban networks.
  • Planimetric & altimetric situation plans : in addition to the others, they contain altimetric elements, dimensioned points or measured level curves compared to a national reference plan (Black Sea 1975 – for Romania) or local system.

Situation plans are delivered in printed and digital format: .dwg files .dxf (AutoCAD compatible) and .pdf files (Acrobat Reader compatible).

Surveys and post-execution as built plans

Surveys and as-build plans are used when a verification of the executed elements is desired, whether it is the interior of some constructions or the systematized elements of some lands . They are made using classic technology, satellite, photogrammetry or 3D scanning.

The surveys and as-built plans made are compared with the designed elements to highlight the possible deviations from the tolerances imposed by the design theme.

Facade or structures plans

In the case of civil, patrimonial and industrial constructions or in case surveys of some structures are necessary, we execute surveys (2D) of the façade or surveys (2D) of the structures. In this situation we use – 3D scanning – as measurement technology because it is the fastest method and the only one that provides the necessary density for such projects.

For more details about 3D scanning, please access our website www.Scanari3D.ro , dedicated to this measurement method.

Volume calculation

In engineering topography works we often encounter the need to calculate volumes of filling or digging. Given that, in order to report a volume as close as possible to the real one, the topography of the land needs to be measured as well as possible, and considering the fact that the areas where these measurements are made are usually difficult to access (quarries, gravel pits, landfills etc.) we use photogrammetric technology – with drone measurements for this service.

Editing plans

Some state institutions require situation plans with projected elements where points of interest must have certain plane coordinates in the national Stereo ’70 projection system. These plans are required in case of gas connections, for the servitudes of the electrical installations or for the connections of the water and canal networks.

Situation plans for AACR (Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority) approval

The AACR approval is requested by the urbanism certificate in the case of technical projects related to the objectives in areas with civil aeronautical easements or in other areas where they may constitute obstacles for air navigation. The specificity of these documentations is that the points of interest within the technical design are determined by ellipsoidal coordinates (φ, λ) in the WGS84 system (ETRS89). The altitudes of the points are determined in both systems: the national reference system – Black Sea ’75 and the elliptic elevation system He (ETRS89).

The AACR approval is issued by the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority after the analysis of the topo-geodetic documentation specific to each project.

BOMA standard plans (Building Owners and Managers Association International )

BOMA reliefs are made for spaces: residential, offices, industrial areas or mixed spaces. These are executed especially in the situation when the spaces are to be rented. The BOMA standard provides the calculation of leasable areas; the total rentable area consists of the developed area of the actual space subject to rent, to which is added an undivided share from the common part that serves the entire level.
